La Bonne Maison is a restorative, supportive living based eating disorder treatment residence for women who suffer with anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. If you are here you are taking the first steps toward recovery. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge that you need help and to meet the challenge of taking your life back. My name is Lisa Hatten, owner and Executive Director of La Bonne Maison and former eating disorder sufferer.
I am convinced I would have sought help much earlier if an eating disorder treatment program like the one we offer at La Bonne Maison existed years ago. I didn’t speak out because I was too embarrassed and didn’t want to be locked away from family and friends in a clinical environment alone and scared. Now I can help others struggling with their eating disorder so they don’t have to suffer as I did.
I want to thank you for visiting my website and if you are or think you are suffering from an eating disorder like bulimia, anorexia or binge eating than you have found the right place to begin your journey to recovery. If you’re a family member worried that someone you care about may be silently battling an eating disorder, don’t push them to seek treatment; rather encourage them and point them in the right direction – our direction. I understand it is hard to watch a loved one suffer from anorexia, bulimia or binge eating, but they must make the decision to be one of our guests and receive the eating disorder treatment program that will help them. And once and for all, leave their eating disorder behind.
I created La Bonne Maison because I never wanted to see another person have to go through what I did after seeking treatment for my own eating disorder. I wasn’t satisfied with other eating disorder treatment programs because the environment was too cold and the follow up care was non-existent. Our supportive living residence is just the place to feel safe while we help you receive the treatment you need. It took a lot of work for me to overcome my eating disorder but I can say I am finally living the life God intended with my wonderful husband and step-children.
Since then, it has been my dream to keep others from suffering as I had.
I think the key to the success of our eating disorder programs is, not only that clients are living in a beautiful home with support, but also a home filled with a team that truly cares. We treat our clients with respect and we also give them a voice. Ours is a program small enough to give you individualized care, but comprehensive enough to set you on the path to recovery.
One thing that is true and dear to me is that 2 of my staff members are graduates of our eating disorder treatment program, and now work tirelessly to help others within La Bonne Maison.
